Scholarship

SML and MSSU have joined together to form an educational partnership. Starting now, you can
"Learn While You Earn." Nowhere else can you drive your way to a degree. Through MSSU's
distance learning program, drivers can attend classes via the Internet while on the road!

    What is this educational partnership?
It is an educational agreement between Sitton Motor Lines and Missouri Southern State University
that allows you to work on a college degree while you continue to earn a great level of pay driving for
    SML.

Who is eligible for the program?
You, as a full-time driver for SML, as well as your spouse or child, anyone in your immediate family is
eligible. The scholarship will only cover one family member at a time.

What is the cost to the driver for the program?
Drivers signing up for the program face no costs directly from SML. As a matter of fact, drivers in this
program are paid the exact same rate per mile and receive the same benefits as all new SML
    employees.

What scholarships are offered and what is covered within them?
    SILVER SCHOLARSHIP
There will be a limited number of Silver Scholarships offered to a limited number of drivers each
semester. The Silver Scholarship covers 50% of tuition. The first semester, 6 credit hours are
covered. In all subsequent semesters, up to 12 credit hours are covered (24 credit hour maximum per
year). The SML scholarship committee will review the performance of each recipient for scholarship
renewal at the end of each semester with these minimum expectations:

    1. Driver must average 9500 miles per month
    2. Must maintain a "C" average in classes (2.0+ GPA)
    3. Must maintain employment with SML.

    GOLD SCHOLARSHIP
If a driver meets all requirements for the Silver Scholarship for one full year, they will be eligible to
apply for the Gold Scholarship. The Gold Scholarship will pay 100% of tuition up to 12 credit hours
per semester, plus 100% of book rental costs. The Gold Scholarship will be awarded to the top 10%
of eligible candidates in our program.

    What degree programs are available?
The following Associate and Bachelor degrees are available completely on-line. A student would
never have to go to the campus:

AS, Law Enforcement   BS, Criminal Justice
    BS, General Studies   BS, Accounting
BS, Economics and Finance   BS, International Business
    BS, Marketing/Management   BS, Health Science
    BS, RN to BSN

I have current or prior college credit; can it transfer?
Yes, MSSU accepts transfer credit from all accredited universities and colleges.

Can any of my work experience count towards a degree?
Yes, in some cases, work experience can equal college credit. You can find more information about
this on MSSU's web site at www.mssu.edu/lifelonglearning/portfolio/index.shtml.

How much is tuition going to cost me?
MSSU tuition rates are continuously one of the lowest in the region. Drivers receiving Silver
Scholarships will be responsible for 50% of tuition plus books. The current (2007-2008) rate is $170
per credit hour for on-line classes or $135 for on-site classes, assuming your family member lives
nearby. There may be other fees, such as book rental (which is $6 per credit hour.) If you wish, SML
will work with you to set up a savings plan that will pull a portion of your check into an account to
ensure that you will have the needed funds. You can also apply for a payment program through
    MSSU at this link.
